The Chalet

The Chalet Firefly (Glühwürmchenhütte) is your exclusive mountain chalet in Styria at 1,100 meters – ideal for peace seekers, families, couples, and nature lovers. This lovingly restored 17th-century hut blends rustic charm with modern comforts like Wi-Fi, hot tub, and panoramic sauna.

Whether a winter ski holiday or a summer getaway with herb garden, fish pond, and BBQ area – here, relaxation lasts all year. Large windows, natural materials, and a secluded location make this stay unforgettable.

Playground on the Property

A thoughtfully designed playground makes the cabin especially family-friendly. Kids can climb, swing, and explore freely in the fresh mountain air.

Parents can relax on the terrace while keeping an eye on the kids – for a worry-free family holiday in the mountains.

Location

The Glühwürmchenhütte (Chalet Firefly) is located in beautiful Styria, right next to the Hauereck ski area. Accessible year-round (snow chains recommended in winter). In winter, ski right to the doorstep. A toboggan run is also nearby.

In summer, cows graze peacefully in the meadows – without noisy bells, preserving the tranquil alpine ambiance. After a day in nature, unwind in the hot tub or enjoy a cozy bonfire.

Our water comes from a private alpine spring – pure and high-quality. Wi-Fi is also available. Perfect for anyone seeking relaxation without sacrificing comfort.

We’re glad you’re considering a stay at Glühwürmchenhütte – your special retreat in the Styrian Alps! Let us know your preferred travel dates and number of guests. We’ll get back to you with a custom offer as soon as possible.

The chalet sleeps up to 8 adults and 2 toddlers. You can also book it together with the nearby Romantikhütte – perfect for large families or groups of friends.

We prefer weekly rentals (Saturday arrivals), with a minimum stay of one week. Short stays from Thursday or Friday to Sunday may be available on request.

We look forward to planning your alpine getaway and ensuring your stay is truly unforgettable.
